Hi everyone. I posted about my redbud tree suffering so much under the Central Valley sun here in California. 247 days ago to be exact. I appreciate everyone’s support. I ended up placing a shade tree cover for the red and f the summer.

Come September, all the leaves were dead, just yellow and crispy. Nothing re grew. In October and November I made a little cut on the tree trunk to see if it looked green or yellow. So I cut a little piece and saw the trunk was just yellow, with like a microscopic edge of green.

I thought, man it’s deaddddd. I ended up reposting with more questions. A lot of you said to wait until spring because there’s always a chance it’s not dead. December passes, January passes, nothing. I even stopped checking on it first week of February.

Then last week I was alerted that flowers were growing. I rushed out of my house and look!!!!

My neighbors probably thought I was a loon because I literally jumped for joy and screamed, “the tree isn’t dead!”

Nature is awesome! Thank you for the encouragement.

So, yes, where the sun beats on the tree 7 months out of the year at 100-110 lad temps during the day and low 90Fs at night + shade cover = survival!
