is that wood and/or concrete blocks on the bottom? Nope. Put down something like cardboard, or Ive’ve even used old cotton sheets or blankets. You want something that will eventually disintegrate without hurting your plants. Then layers of straw and/or small twigs, then your soil and compost on top. Great start!

Rocks. Blocks of wood. Yknow. Filler stuff. So you don’t have to buy as much compost.
