  1. I've never had a garden in my life – no idea where to even begin. But I'd love to start with potatoes (since we eat a lot of them). Being in the same region as you, is it too late to start ANY vegetable at this point? When we moved to this area two years ago, I was shocked to see the clay soil. I can't imagine anything growing well in this (our grass has struggled!). Can I get a container and plant some potatoes or am I too late?

  2. I love your channel – we are the same – we grown on 1/3 ac urban Coastal Rhode Island. We have about 3,000 sq. feet of growing space right now and we save about $15,000k a year on our grocery budget. It's so nice to see others really thriving in micro and urban homesteading.

  3. my first time to visit your channel. you really have a great vegetable and flower garden, all lush! and the chickens look happy! thanks for sharing.

  4. Pickeling beets , eggs & onions together is awesome – but just the eggs is a good way to preserve long term eggs

  5. We are in a similar situation. 1/3 acre in town, all about the cottage garden and edible landscaping. No chickens yet but our town just approved them (with a bunch of hoops to jump throughπŸ˜…). Love walking through my edible garden in the summer! ❀

  6. My goodness, love that bed of strawberries πŸ“!! Good for you growing as much as you can! I have a big garden in Central Florida!!! I use to live in Montrose, Pennsylvania, nothing good to say about it, no even one person. Sorry. But I am happy for you!!!

  7. Wow ! 20K views in less than a week for a garden video is fantastic and should set that algorithm right…… Sooooo happy πŸ˜ƒ

  8. What a beautiful garden! 😍 I have about 1/6 acre in San Diego, Ca, and I’ve been loving my journey towards an abundance of fresh food from the property. Have you considered getting goats?

  9. He!!o. I just found you. You're doing a great job with all that you tackle. Congratulations. If you don't…
    freeze dry eggs.

  10. Why are you washing the eggs? Leaving them 'unwashed' keeps the coating on, and extends the lifespan of the eggs significantly

  11. I don't think you are supposed to submerse the eggs in water when you clean them?
    (Look into it)

  12. I think its amazing you have meat birds and chickens for eggs — and live in PA on 1/4 acre. I want birds on my 1/4 acre, but where we live in Pennsylvania, you need to have at least an acre of land to have (maybe) 4-6 birds and they have to inspect your coop etc.. I've been trying to figure out a way to get birds ANYWAYS. I guess its all regulated by the county; we're in Cambria County. Any ideas?? Thanks! New here and loving your videos! πŸ™‚

  13. Love your comfrey! In my experience it is the best plant on the homestead! Don't be intimidated by it's size. Cut it down to the ground and use the leaves around your garden beds or fruit trees. You can do this all season long. Also make comfrey tea. Put the leaves in a bucket add water, put a lid on it and it makes great fertilizer for your plants. Reduce it to one part tea to 10 parts water and fertilize. Otherwise pour it over your compost pile to speed it ip.

  14. shalom sister. blessings to you and yours! would you be willing to share with us your watering system? I'm curious as to if you hand water all of these a few time a day or if they're on a timer. thank you <3

  15. Central Pennsylvania here. First of all you have a beautiful garden. I have 3 raised bed gardens. One has just a 3×6 bed that is by my patio and I grow cucumbers there. The next one is 2 raised beds, one 4×8 and 4×4. That is where my peppers this year is going. The other is 4 raised beds 3×6 each. I have a lemon balm in a section of the one and that is where my tomatoes are going to go . I have about 40 containers that I will plant 21 or so with taters the other ones have mint, chives, oregano and garlic and parsley in plus I will also grow some lettuce in it too. And your comfrey you can give to your chickens because I am going to grow some for my 12 hens. I love my girls. Gonna get myself 6 more this year because some of my girls are over 5 years old and not laying anymore. It is just me mostly but I too give some of my stuff away. I tried to grow corn last year and got 6 ears put of it all. So I think I am gonna grow some string beans in where I grew the corn. I too can stuff. My family thinks I am crazy because I just keep canning what I can even if I buy it from a local farm. Be safe out there and god bless.

  16. You are hilarious to listen to πŸ˜‚ in a good way! The chickens and the song of their people had me dying then the volunteer potatoe πŸ˜‚ love it! Got a sub from me! God bless!
