Maple tree in Washington, DC. Do I have a woodpecker problem? If so, does that mean the tree is dying?

Sapsucker- small, woodpecker like bird that drills holes like that. Despite the name, they don’t eat the sap. They come back to eat the bugs that gather to feed on the sap.

This doesn’t harm the tree any more than tapping them for maple syrup does.

Sapsucker. Trees not necessarily dying but would need more photos to give a *general* opinion of its health.
