A car has crashed through a wall and into a garden in York this afternoon (Friday).

The cream coloured Mini has left the road and knocked over a brick wall in the front garden of a house on Tadcaster Road.

It’s at the junction with St Helen’s Road.

Police are on the scene.

The car has ended up wedged between the pole of the traffic light and the garden of the home, which is up for sale.

Both the front and back of the Mini are badly damaged, with the rear windscreen smashed and the exhaust hanging off.

It’s next door to St Edward the Confessor Church, and opposite the Cross Keys pub.

Wreckage is strewn across the pavement. But the road and the pavement are still both open, and traffic is running normally.

It’s not yet known if there are any casualties. More details when we get them.
