BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Nick Deemer with The Plant Bar says there is a plant for everyone — even neglectful owners who oftentimes forget about watering. Some varieties of plants actually thrive on neglect.

Zanzibar Gem, also known as ZZ plants, along with snake plants, are very drought tolerant — which means if you forget to water them, they won’t mind.

The same rule applies to cactuses and succulents.

“The number one downfall of cactus and succulents is too much love,” Deemer said. “They very much so thrive on neglect.”

Another tip for cactus and succulent owners — they prefer direct sunlight.
