I'd say it's more submerged than it looks, but the water distorts it. It's an avocado seed. This is the first time I've tried something like this. I haven't spent much time researching it; I just decided to start the experiment. I hope it works.

That’s a fun one! I stuck three toothpicks in mine and used that to keep it half in water half out and it worked just fine. Seems like your setup should work too.

Peel the first layer off until you get to the part that’s lighter color, similar to a peanut.

The you should put in a bright and warm place, the more light the better. Though I like to use perlite but I keep them moist and warm under a grow light and they sprout in a week.

You peeled it right? I can’t tell by the picture. After it’s been peeled you can put it in a paper towel and into a baggie, place into a warm place like the cabinet above the stove. After 2 weeks it will be opened up enough to place back into the water like this and then you just leave it! In a bright indirect spot.

Problem is that water will keep evaporating and you need to fill it up every day.

It’s better to put something that floats like some cork or something with a hole in it in a bucket, so that roots are always submerged and you have to add water less often.
