I'm a new homeowner who heard a creaking noise in the backyard and discovered this tree leaning against the fence. Every time the wind blows, the fence creaks. I tried calling an arborist and it's a 2-4 week wait for site visits, then 8 weeks until they can do work.
I would really appreciate any advice on whether this is a tree that can be straightened or has to be removed. And, if this is work I can do myself or have to hire out for. I'm worried about damage to the fence while waiting. Thanks in advance!

remove it- if it is week at this point it is not likely that it will restabilize
you can remove this- see if you can get a rope on it and pull into the yard – then use a sharp shovel or a sawzall to cut the roots so the tree weight tears the remaining roots when it falls into the yard- you may need to cut a few more roots with the saw
If you really want to you can, not necessary though. Arborvitae are lightweight sponges that can’t harm anything even they somehow wanted to. It’s just rubbing against the fence, not going to harm it. If you really wanted to you could remove it yourself as well but that would be kind of a waste
