The intersection of U.S. 83 and Annie Scheer Road will be realigned to increase visibility and improve its angle. The south entrance to the Southwind neighborhood will remain open, while the north entrance will be realigned and equipped with dedicated turning lanes. The Arkansas River bridge will also be repaired as part of the project.
Sporer Land Development Inc., of Oakley, is the contractor on the $44.5 million project. Completion is expected by the end of October 2027, weather permitting. KDOT said it will continue to provide updates on construction impacts as the project moves forward.
