This is my back yard. I live in South East Colorado US so its pretty dry. Its almost exclusively stalklike weeds. Is it possible to get this to grass by planting and routine cutting and watering or would I need some sort of lawn burn to kill the weeds away and start over? I finally am in a position to get my yard situated and am looking at my options.

Did it have grass before? Cut what is there and see what happens come spring time?
