Town & Country Gardners Garden Club of Alliance paid tribute to late Kridler Gardens owner Barrie Kridler during an event at Rodman Public Library.
Kridler, of Homeworth, died Sept. 1, 2024 at age 78.
He and his husband, Barry Nichols, were well known around Stark County and the surrounding areas for their expertise in landscaping and horticulture. Kridler’s legacy is one of love for all he knew and helping patrons to keep their yards looking beautiful. He helped many area garden clubs, especially Town & Country, with projects to help keep Alliance beautiful.
The event included about 40 members and guests, some of whom were former employees and customers. Professor Chuck McClaugherty presented a program dedicated to Kridler’s love of birds along with a slide presentation.
After the presentation, many guests and members shared memories of Kridler and his kind and generous nature.
February is Bird Month, and Rodman Public Library dedicated the month to honor Kridler. Town & Country Gardeners set up a display in the main section of the library with pictures and memorabilia.
