On Saturday, April 18, 2026 the Modesto Garden Club, Inc. will host the annual Spring Garden Tour. The Modesto Garden Club hosted its first Spring Garden Tour in 1932 with three gardens. This year the club hosts five self-touring gardens on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and children 12 years and under are free.
The tickets can be purchased at the Modesto Garden Club (MGC) office each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon until the tour. Tickets are also available at the Morris Nursery in Riverbank, Thompson’s Building Supply & Nursery in Ripon, at Modesto locations including The Paper Habit, Suite 52 Living, Farmers Daughter, Fresh Idea Flower Co., and Westurf Nursery, along with the Greenery Nursery in Turlock, and online through Venmo or ModestoGardenClub.org. Tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the tour at each garden location.
The five Modesto area gardens incorporate an assortment of ideas, plants and focus.
They are homeowner maintained by enthusiastic and knowledgeable home gardeners. Gardens range from a variety of 30 avocado trees, plants and with a rock stream, succulents planted in cameras and typewriters, a driveway of persimmons, a garden brimming with unique trees, shrubs, flowers and waterfall, plus a classic English cottage garden. Refreshments are served at the Modesto Garden Club garden and attendees can purchase tickets to win items during a drawing at the club’s garden.
The 2026 Modesto gardens on tour are located at 6437 Covert Road; 4801 Quinturn Lane; 1600 Pristine Court; 1114 Brady Avenue; and at the Modesto Garden Club Office, 622 14th Street. All tours take place outside in the gardens.
Funds from the Spring Garden Tour make it possible for the Modesto Garden Club to continue its 100+ year focus on urban beautification and preservation of green spaces. Proceeds support scholarships for college bound horticulture and landscape students, planting the Aileen Gallo Memorial Clock, planting flower pots in the downtown area and Gallo Center for the Arts, maintaining the Senior Citizens center garden, school and therapeutic gardens, and over a dozen additional philanthropic endeavors.
The Modesto Garden Club will also host a Plant Sale and Craft Fair in May and a Summer Luncheon and Table Viewing in June at Del Rio Country Club.
