A green-fingered workshop in Cornwall aims to spark children’s interest in gardening.
Dobbies’ Lelant store is hosting its latest Little Seedlings Club on Sunday, March 1, offering a free, hands-on session all about peas and pod plants.
The monthly club introduces children to gardening through seasonal themes and interactive learning.
Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager at Dobbies, said: “As we start to see the first signs of spring, now is a perfect time for our Little Seedlings to get excited about spring planting by learning about peas and pod plants, and why they are important for gardens and soil.
“This hands-on workshop will be a great way for kids to get excited about all the sowing and growing they can do this year.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming kids along to this month’s workshop and we’re excited to hear how their pea seeds thrive.”
The workshop will teach children about different types of peas, which varieties are edible, and what happens inside a pod.
They will also learn how climbing plants grow and why pod plants matter in the garden.
Each child will get the chance to sow their own pea seeds to take home and grow.
The Little Seedlings Club is held every month at Dobbies’ Lelant store, covering a variety of garden-related topics designed to spark curiosity and confidence in young gardeners.
Spaces for the Lelant session can be booked for free via the Dobbies website
