There used to be a mature plant here, that I believe was datura, or a similar plant. I'm struggling to identify if this is the same, or something else?
The original plant was around 10ft tall, with giant white flowers. The flowers were extremely fleshy and would just drop and rot on the floor as though they were fruit. The whole tree released a kind of powder that got everywhere. I can't remember any seed pods, I was a kid when it was ripped out. The bark was white and smooth
This plant is growing next to calla lilies in the same damp, marshy soil as the previous plant. Clearly something's eating it, so maybe it's not datura?
The lower leaves are about a foot across, and the whole thing is around three feet tall. The leaves are downy, powdery.
Zone 10-11 on the hardiness scale, Mediterranean/tropical.
Any help is appreciated! I was thinking of buying a baby datura plant but there's no need if it's just growing in my backyard 💀

it looks kind of like tobacco? that’s all I got, sorry.
Looks like Brugmansia.
Someone else will know better than me, but I ?think? it’s Tobacco? Nicotiana tabacum
It’s a brugmansia. Â As with most plants, don’t eat it.
Tomato and tobacco hornworms love all plants in the nightshade family. The caterpillars benefit by becoming bitter and poisonous. They become big hawk moths.
This is a brugmansia, essentially a really tall datura.
Don’t eat it.
The aroma from the flowers will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF but only at night, their blossoms open and produce aroma only when it’s dark.
Mysterious and sexy, 10/10 will grow every year.
Very powerful plant datura be careful with it
Coincido es brugmansia jeje
Not in my fucking back yard. This is the shit they use to rob tourists in every country you wouldn’t go with a gun.
