Hey everyone, first time running a hydro system and looking for some feedback before I start my next round of greens.

Overall the plants look bright and healthy. I planted a few extra seeds per cube and thinned them out, keeping the strongest ones. We tried some of the thinned leaves and they tasted good.

However, some of the leaves look slightly burnt and I’m not sure what the cause is.

They get about 4–6 hours of direct morning sun. I’m in Coastal SoCal, so it’s pretty bright and intense during that window. After that, the balcony shades them and they get indirect light the rest of the day.

I’m using MasterBlend lettuce formula 8-15-36 with the recommended additions of magnesium sulfate and calcium nitrate, mixed per instructions.

Does this sound more like sun stress or nutrient burn? Anything you would adjust for the next round?

Appreciate any advice 🙏

I’m not sure what it is, but I added a fan and have not had this issue since.

What are EC and pH? If you can’t check them you might want to do a full swap of nutrients to a fresh solution and see if it helps.
