TEXARKANA, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M University–Texarkana will host a free class on “Organic Gardening Fundamentals” on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Master gardeners will host free wildlife gardening program

According to a news release, the program begins at 6 p.m. in Room 326 of the University Building on the Texas A&M-Texarkana campus. The event is free and open to the public, with no reservations required.

The class will be presented by Dr. Joe Masabni, professor and extension vegetable specialist at the AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Dallas.

According to organizers, the program will cover the basics of organic gardening, including improving soil health, crop rotation, and integrated pest management to control weeds, insects, and plant diseases.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
