The deer gather on our property every year, in the fall. The males (bucks) rub their antlers on the trunks and scrape off the bark. So, we placed these corrugated plastic pipe pieces around the trunks and it kept them away. Can these 'bark protectors' stay on year 'round? There are 35 trees and it's a lot of work to put them on and take them off.

Nope, those are taken off in spring and reapplied in fall.
The black ones can overheat and cause moisture to trap. You can get white or clear ones and will cause less of an issue with that. Maybe drill a few holes to help prevent moisture buildup to avoid any mold/moss issues. Otherwise I’ve seen this used successfully before.

this type has better air flow and I leave them on all year but with that many trees it will be pricey. is the money worth the convenience of not going on and off?
Welded wire can be left in place.
Pricier than the tubes initially, but you already have the stakes in place.
