Young gardeners are invited to get their hands dirty this spring with a free educational workshop.

Dobbies’ Galton store will host its Little Seedlings Club on Sunday, March 1, focusing on peas and other pod plants.

Children will learn about different types of peas, discover which are edible, and take part in planting their own pea seeds to grow at home.

Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager at Dobbies, said: “As we start to see the first signs of spring, now is a perfect time for our Little Seedlings to get excited about spring planting by learning about peas and pod plants, and why they are important for gardens and soil.

“This hands-on workshop will be a great way for kids to get excited about all the sowing and growing they can do this year.”

The Little Seedlings Club is free to attend and takes place monthly at the Galton store, covering a variety of seasonal gardening topics.
