the babies look a bit too tall and small, but nothing to worry about.
is this the first time they split after some sort of stress? like spending a lot of time bareroot while being shipped? that will cause that sometimes. the plant is still recovering energy
or has their light source changed recently?

Looks like they were overwatered and are starting to stack.

I must say looks like my maughanii right now. They’re just taller than mine. They seem to be stayed pretty plump as the split though so it might just be how it goes. Mine are definitely not forming a dry sheath like I know other conos do

Yeah they look a little over watered, which forced the inner leaves out too soon. I would cut back on watering and see if it’ll absorb those outer leaves enough to sheath over for the summer!
