I have a problem with ants in raised garden any advice?
Yes those lids would be heavy if it came down on your head. Most people hold up their cold frame lids with a stick propped up against the frame and the window.
Thank God everyone's fine. Makes me think maybe there should be a smoke alarm in the attic as well or some kind of system to detect smoke or fire because it's where rarely anyone really goes into in most homes.
Will you be getting someone to check the entire attic for wonky electrical? (I know you said you had the wiring checked). We moved into an older home that was renovated poorly and found wires going to nowhere, one was actually live. Now that it is exposed, getting a professional to clear the rest of the attic would surely give you peace of mind. There are also plastic domes you can cover all the electrical boxes made specifically for attics. We installed them before the new insulation went in. Benjamin, you are awesome, you saved the day!! Do we have a future Fire Fighter in the making!! Laura, we are so glad and thankful you followed up on your son's super senses!!!

You should just make the ceiling in the laundry room a cathedral ceiling now that the ceiling is opened. Will give the room feel bigger and brighter.

I’m so thankful your family is safe. My mother’s home caught fire on Memorial Day weekend. It was a gas leak from outside that shot into the house. I was the only one available because luckily my mother was at the lake house. The house was almost totaled. God kept everyone safe, but it was a terrible pain for her life. We were grown and just out of the house. I remember the smell that lingered for ever.
Huge hugs sent to you all!!! Again so grateful everyone is safe and more damage wasn’t done. Seeing the extent of the rafter damage was an eye opener to what could have happened next if it wasn’t caught when it was. Awesome job Benjamin, Laura and Aaron. Thank you for an update. I’m sure today’s very routine sowing of seeds and trimming hydrangeas was soul soothing. Thanks for bringing us along sharing it with us. ❤❤❤

I had a video pop up on YouTube last night after watching yesterday's video and there is a safety ladder that stores in a covered cabinet looking thing right underneath your window so it looks nice while it's storing the safety ladder I'm sure you could Google it and it would come up for you
We had a Bidet piece added to our toilet when we remodeled our bathroom for my wheelchair user son. It has not held up well and we had trouble finding a bidet that met the UPC or IPC requirements for a plumber to install. It has to do with water back-flow. I’ll be interested to see what you choose as we need to replace ours.

You can always use sheets over things you are not going to use after cleaning them, so you do not have to clean so much, like your piano. maybe this will help some for later down the road when all is said and done.
Laura – we completed a major reno last fall – for 3 months! I cleaned and cleaned. I found that fine dust in the back of closets on the second floor! The heating system sucks it up and blows it around all over the place. I would encourage you to have your cleaning lady come 3 times a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I found it exhausting and overwhelming.

Shouldn’t your homeowners insurance have someone come in and do the cleaning and repairs from the fire. I had a fire years ago and my homeowner’s insurance moved us to a motel while they did all that for us
Hang there!!! Construction dust is cRaZy!!! It drifts everywhere! When you turn on your A/C this summer get ready to clean all over again! Mask and tape off/seal off any rooms you're not using daily, you'll thank yourself later for doing it, you'll drive yourself nuts trying to clean and keep up with it daily! Been there – Dun that! Nice hair Aaron, it look like you just got it done. Also, Aaron, before you buy a bedet, make sure it works for a man as well as it does for a woman, because, me and my husband bought a bedet, the only worked for me, it was positioned wrong for a man, so my husband hated it, he wanted it gone, after a year of his complaining, I let him take it out. Laura, don't worry about the dust, it comes with renovation a house, it will be all worth it in the end.
