Is my Lavender a Write Off?

I bought this English lavender last summer and I'm afraid that I've lost it over the course of the winter.

My parents pruned it back at the start of the winter as I was away with work, and I'm afraid that they have taken too much and I've lost it.

I can't see any new growth under there.

Please ignore the weeds. They are in my list of jobs to get done, but I have so many of them in my border that I am neglecting the pots for now.
