To clarify, I’m wondering how thrips do in the wild. Is there a risk of a plague on all our crops if I transplant these, or will they just fade into the background?

The plot is right next to a nature preserve, so I have no doubt there are plenty of predators that could keep them at bay.

Buying some local beneficial insects might help.
