Am I ok to place the little guy in a nursery pot with drainage or is it safer to keep it in the cup to avoid root shock?

    It’s not a plant I’m so familiar with but if we go by our general knowledge then that plant currently looks like it’s in a weakened state , so don’t transfer it yet.

    Get it up a bit stronger first. That includes giving it the proper water and light conditions that it needs, even soil if it follows the lifestyle of the common carnivorous plants here .
