I was inspired by another Schefflera post I just saw: My neighbor recently gifted me this Schefflera. He said, his kid broke all the branches in a bout of anger, so he wanted the plant to be safe… I gave all of the branches a clean cut as they were pretty damaged and partly broken off (but only had a sharp knife), removed it from the old soil to check the roots and they were completely fine. I added new soil and put it close to my south facing window. Can the bare branches sprout new leaves or will only the one with the branches regrow? I have regular fertilizer, should I start using it on the plant with waterings? Typically, I would not fertilize after giving a plant new soil and wait for 3-6 months.
