Hey y’all! I moved into this house last summer and am excited for my first spring in it. We have this fence in our backyard that I’d love to grow a flowering vine on. I’ve looked through all of the lovely native resources y’all have shared on other posts and have some good contenders. However, there’s this existing vine already growing on the fence (not sure what kind) and I’m curious if it will compete with anything new I plant? Should I leave it as is or cut it back and train it to grow the other direction? Thanks! (Will be tearing out the dead plants at the bottom at some point. thanks freeze! 🙄)

That looks like Star Jasmine to me. It gets very fragrant little white flowers.

I’d bet dollars to donuts those foxtail ferns come back. Leave ’em and find out! They’re an awesome plant. Mine come back year after year (even after Uri).
