It’s been an incredibly wet winter and I haven’t had the chance to get to the plot as much as I hoped. Now that sprung is fast approaching, I’m determined to save my plot and bring it back to its former glory.

Thanks to Integra for providing me with one of their beautiful, handmade in the UK baby carriers for testing on the allotment!

  1. Thank you all for watching and your lovely comments ๐Ÿฅฐ This video took a long time to edit and all of your feedback is making it worthwhile ๐Ÿ’š

  2. Yes! Fellow maternity leave Mum here, we deserve our allotment hobbie! I have kept my allotment ambitions small and achievable this year, no pressure, low maintenance things but enough to keep it fun and interesting. I don't know what your plot rules are but at mine we are allowed to put play equipment etc at our plots. It is a large plot but I've split it into sections and given up a largish area to a play house, a slide and a swing. My preschooler is happy to play whilst I garden, he gets involved with his kids sized gardening equipment too. I will put the baby in a carrier when she's big enough like you have. The pop up play area is a great idea! Great to see you on the plot again ๐Ÿฅฐ

  3. wow! Well done you!! No don't ever give it up! AQnd what an education for Dylan, he's taking it all in, and bring you back to sanity too!

  4. Great to see you andDylan out in the allotment ๐Ÿฅฐ thank you for sharing the sunshine in England & the beautiful flowers starting ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ from The Land Down Under ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿจ๐Ÿฆ˜๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ’Œ

  5. I don't know why but watching you enjoying your work makes me feel lazy. I must go out and do the same.

  6. I'm so glad you didn't listen to the viewers that advised you to get rid of the allotment. While doing so might be right for some, for others (like you and me, apparently), having such an enjoyable and therapeutic outdoor activity available during early motherhood is a sanity saver. And you are being sensible and realistic about what you intend to do with it this year. I definitely felt the need to maintain as much of my pre-motherhood activities (and identity) as possible, making adjustments to them to be sure they were do-able with a baby in tow. Oh, joy!
    Love that pop-up playpen!

  7. New here! Beautiful piece of land! Enjoy it, don't get overwhelmed. One step at a time. Enjoying the flowers and the information!๐ŸŽ‰

  8. I'm actually excited to see what you can do with a lower maintenance allotment. I have chronic health issues and we aren't getting any younger

  9. How wonderful to see you back on the allotment and so happy! And little Dylan seems so happy too… it clearly rubs off. It's like seeing the secret garden come back to life again. I can't believe someone told you to give it up! You've got this!! โคโค

  10. I have an allotment and love it, so wonderful that you little man can share the experience with you ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿฉต

  11. Thatโ€™s exactly how I done it with my youngest on my back! Itโ€™s amazing to get back to being hands on with baby in tow! Youโ€™re doing a fab job and itโ€™s good for both of you ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

  12. Lovely to see you both out enjoying the sunshine, that is an achievement Katrina. Priorities change a little when youโ€™re a new Mum but enjoying the fresh air with your son is a brilliant way to spend time together. Your plot will be there when you have time and that thought will get you through crumby weather.

  13. Itโ€™s so lovely to have you back here on your allotment! Iโ€™ve learned so much from watching your older videos when I started gardening over three years ago. Loved watching your โ€˜how toโ€™ and the monthly walk around the plot where you would show every single plant on your plot, those were the best โ˜บ๏ธ ๐Ÿ’•

  14. Olรก, que bom ver seus vรญdeos no ar de novo.

  15. Such beautiful hellebores you've got, Katrina!
I remember that video that you are linking now, when you went to a nursery on a tour to see all the different varieties of hellebores, it's one of my faves still. I absolutely love hellebores, fantastic flowers. Did you cut some to take home, I'd love to see your little bouquet.
You've made great progress today. Good luck doing what you love.

  16. Nice to see you back in your garden! Good for you Katrina! Your little one will love growing up in that garden with you! Cheers!

  17. I love watching your day-in-the-life video at the allotment. I can feel the warmth of the sun, smell the earth, remember the joy of the new buds finally showing through, recall the excitement (and being daunted) of clearing the ground ready for new planting. It reconnects me with the feeling of early spring in England, as I sit in my ac room in Bangkok where it is 30C outside and we don't have Spring. Thank you!

  18. Its already Spring here. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming, many blue sky days, the sea is shining under the sun… beautiful.

  19. So lovely to see you both enjoying the sunshine, you achieved! was funny seeing Dylan bobbing around behind you ๐Ÿ’•
You absolutely should not give up, it's your solace & will be a fabulous learning space for little Dylan. x

  20. Why would you give up the plot? The best kind of knowledge you can pass on โ€” almost without him even realising โ€” is a love of nature, along with all those practical skills.
A little corner just for him, with some grass, a swing, a sandpit, maybe even a climbing frame or slide, and heโ€™ll be happily entertained for years while you garden. As he grows, heโ€™ll start planting and watering alongside you โ€” and learning as he goes.
My 10-year-old son is autistic and only speaks a little, but he can happily spend hours in the garden. Heโ€™s curious about every flower and bug, loves playing in the mud โ€” and thatโ€™s where heโ€™s at his happiest. ๐Ÿ’š

  21. Lovely to see you back gardening with your baby !! So good for your mind and soul, maybe not your back baby is getting big haha !! So cute!! ๐Ÿฅฐ

  22. Ahhh we get to see a glimpse of bubs!! He's a big boy!! He's gonna be even bigger when he finishes growing hey?? He's definitely going to keep your hands full and busy!! Better hand him the shovel now while you can!! Ohh you did!! LOL!! Cheers mate!!

  23. What an adorable little gardener in the making ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐ŸŒท later in life he will be happy to see this footage of him and his mom gardening together ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐ŸŒฟ

  24. Its quite surreal to see a garden being green, dry, and with blooming flowers, In February ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿคช. In my northen zone 4b everything will be still covered with half a meter high snow piles until late ( yes, late ๐Ÿ˜‚) Aprill ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ™ˆ. This green and dry, like yours right know, my garden will be in May ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. So till then, I shall live vicariously through your videos ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐ŸŒท
