Plots are still available for Knoxville’s new community garden.

The Mint ‘N More Foundation and its outreach brand Mindful Nourishment Matters started the project at the corner of Montgomery and Seventh Streets, and the new space is designed to bring neighbors together, promote healthy food access, and offer hands-on support for people who want to learn how to grow their own food, or don’t have current access to a garden. Plots are available for rent for experienced gardeners or those with no experience with smaller plots costing $35 and large plots costing $50. The garden also will include many different events and educational opportunities. Sosia Duffy with the Mint ‘N More Foundation says projects like this bring local people together.

“Community gardens build community. That’s the premise behind all of this. It’s super important to get people out and for them to learn how food is grown.”
