The ‘spacious and characterful’ nine-bedroom home in Torquay, Devon, boasts period details, four bathrooms, an extensive garden and an indoor swimming pool.

However, it’s the kitchen that has attracted the greatest attention – with numerous individuals discussing the listing for the residence on Reddit.

Many observers suggest there might be a Koi carp pond in the kitchen, or at minimum a substantial water feature of some description.

The listing includes a collection of 39 photographs offering prospective purchasers the opportunity to comprehensively examine the 2,788 square-foot residence, which additionally features an indoor bar and a driveway providing generous parking space. Yet sharp-eyed Britons focused on the peculiar feature concealed in the kitchen.

Images reveal what social media investigators believe to be a DIY pond incorporated into the kitchen island, with inhabitants present – though the listing makes no reference to it, and estate agents have not verified this.

There are two additional large fish tanks positioned throughout the property, photographs reveal.

One individual on social media quipped: “Freshly caught fish for tea?” Other users maintained that the distinctive feature represents excellent value for money.

One commented if it is genuinely a Koi pond: “Koi pond in the kitchen for £425,000 nearly has me tempted to move out of London.”

Another user remarked: “I would 100% buy it and turn that kitchen pond into a huge tropical pond.”
