Day two of the annual event connects homeowners with more than 100 local vendors ahead of spring makeovers

TOLEDO, Ohio — Hundreds of homeowners packed the Glass City Center in downtown Toledo on Saturday for day two of the PRO Home and Garden Show, looking for inspiration and expert advice before starting spring projects.

From kitchen remodels to backyard upgrades, more than 100 vendors lined the floor, giving visitors the chance to explore options and ask questions face-to-face.

“It’s a one-stop shop to meet with many contractors of the same type,” said Scott Lewis, president of the Professional Remodelers Organization. “So, it’s best to come and talk to everybody not just focus on one person or one company and find the best fit for you.”

The show has been a Toledo tradition for decades, drawing thousands each year and connecting consumers with local professionals from across the area.

For vendors like Mike Fisher with Weaver Barns Amish Outdoor Showcase, the weekend is about more than exposure.

“What keeps us coming back, it’s a good chance to connect with our customers, meet new customers,” said Fisher. “We see a lot of familiar faces that we’ve built for before, and it’s fun to hear how things are going with their, their project now that it’s done.”

Joe Chavis, owner of Chavis Building and Renovation, said understanding a customer’s lifestyle is key.

“The process really begins with a relationship,” said Chavis. “What do you like about this? What don’t you like about the space? How do you use the space?”

The PRO Home and Garden Show continues Sunday at the Glass City Center starting at 10 a.m.
