It is noted that the gardener grows mandarins, lemons, and other exotic fruits. He bought the first citrus trees in 2013. He grew them on the windowsill for two years, then built a veranda.
“I am interested in all plants that bear fruit and that can be eaten. I grow everything. Even such exotic ones that do not grow in our soil,” said Vitaliy Demyanishin.
The gardener harvests tangerines just before the New Year. According to him, the size of the fruits depends on their quantity.
“This year there is a terrible overload here, there are many of them. They are small in size. In previous years, when there were fewer fruits, they reached the size of a large tangerine at the market. Sweet, juicy, fragrant. People often come and marvel. Everyone asks if they can try, so I treat them. Everyone comes: children, parents. Everyone wants a tangerine,” said the gardener.
Vitaliy Demyanishin said that his lemon fruits have been growing for two years. Lemons can grow up to 300 grams.
“The first year, the flowers that bloom in spring, in March or April, manage to grow lemons. Last year there were a lot, more than 50 lemons, they were a bit smaller. They are green all the time, they turn yellow somewhere in January. If you leave it for the second year, when it gets warm in March, it turns green again, like a chameleon, and continues to grow. It can grow up to 300 grams. And it blooms when it wants,” said the gardener.
Vitaliy Demyanishin explained that lemons are more demanding than tangerines. Proper watering is important for both. With proper care, the plants will have both fruits and green leaves all year round.
