So, I’ve wanted one of these for a while. It’s a Hoya Linearis, we just got these in at my job too! They are in 6 inch hanging baskets and are priced at $110, with my discount it would be $66. I think they look full and gorgeous but my coworkers (who don’t particularly like Hoyas) think it’s not worth it. From what I’m seeing online around $100 for a 6in is pretty standard and $66 is excellent. Am I right and should I go for it? Or should I hold off and keep looking elsewhere?

No no no no…. That’s also high on my list and tbh that’s WAY too much 🥲

In my area, yes, worth it and I would scoop it up.

    I bought a 4in pot for $30 CAD yesterday

Where are you located if you don’t mind me asking?

  5. I agree, it depends on what you consider worth it. I got a cutting locally for $10 and have been able to propagate it multiple times to make a fuller pot.

Go for it ! And get me one while you’re at it 😁. I’d love to find one locally but I’ll probably have to order from Florida

I have been searching for a linearis…I would snatch that for 66!!!!

Depends on your location. I bought a bigger one here in Germany for 20 Euro / ~23 USD

For $66 for that big and full of a pot, if it’s healthy and completely pest free (including fungus gnat free) I personally think it’s worth it considering my favorite place to buy plants sells them in 3” pots for $29 and guarantees the health of their plants and that they are pest free.

Man. I’m in France so idk at what point this makes a difference, but I got them for around 20€, same size (also work in plant shop).
This Hoya is easy to propagate and you should find some cheaper I think.

Edit : 20 same size, but you can also find “babies” for 5-7€.

I would get it at the $66 price because I’ve been looking and can’t find it here (yet). I’m in Canada too (Edmonton).

The way my eyes literally went 😳

I would say no, I hope you can find a cheaper one because I love linearis!

I see this plant for under $50 on FB plant groups all the time. Actual sellers I’ve bought from. This price seems outrageous

If that’s what they go for in your area and that’s worth it to you, absolutely.

Here, I got a really full one that was about 80cm long in a 12cm pot for around £30 about 2 years ago.

I just lucked into one in a 4″ pot for $6.99 CDN at my local Home Depot. It’s a lot less full and less healthy than this one. I would pay $66 for this plant without batting an eye.

If you love the plant, and you can afford it without taking food from your children’s mouths, go for it!

It’s so subjective. I’m sure you can find one for more money. You could also find one for less money. But a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Life is short. Buy the plant and enjoy it!

Yes yes yes. Hell yes. It’s hard to come across such a large linearis plant.

I mean…..is it worth it to you? That’s all that matters in reality. Would I pay that? Not a snowball’s chance. Not even if I had it to blow. But that’s me. There’s only about 3 plants i would pay that much for and this isn’t one of em. Lol
