**Ignore the dog-toy graveyard…

Living in South Carolina my yard is more sand than it is grass – although it was well-sodded when we moved in. As you can see, I have diggers. Needles to say what was once grass has just become a sand pit. It's constantly being carried into the house and it holds onto that dog-urine smell so well that I don't even want to sit on my back patio. What should I use, if anything, to rid us of the smell? And how can I grow my grass back when the ground is practically all sand? We've used seed, the spray mix like what you see on the side of highways post-construction, and even those roll-out mats that are essentially the same as the spray (at least as advertised). Short of re-sodding I'm at a loss…
