I am located in Central Florida and have this fiddle leaf planted in my backyard. It has been there since my wife and I moved into the house in 2019. This winter, however, has been brutally cold (by Florida standards). We had a weeklong stretch where the nights were all around or under freezing, which is pretty unusual.

In the seven years we have lived in this house. I haven’t seen this tree lose leaves like this. But the second I saw all the leaves turn brown and crispy. I had a feeling they were all going to fall.

I think the tree itself will be fine as all the trunks and main branches still seem healthy and robust. And some of the lower branches are already showing new buds. But this is the cost of a longer-than-usual cold snap in Florida 🥲
