Hi all,

I have a western sycamore in my backyard. We recently finished an addition in which we built a deck with the tree as a centerpiece about 8’ from the deck. The project required that some of the roots be pruned, so my wife and I hired an arborist and a reputable company to do the pruning according to the arborists notes.

We just moved back into the house, and I’ve noticed what appears to me to be termite droppings in and around the base of the tree. I am curious if anyone has any insight into what this might be, and if I should be doing anything to ensure the health and longevity of the tree.

Thank you!
