PENDLETON – The Pendleton Community Garden is seeking volunteers in the community to serve on the facility’s Pendleton Garden Council. The council is being established to support management and operations of the garden in partnership with the Umatilla County Public Health Department (UCo Health).

The council will meet four times a year to ensure that the management, maintenance, and operations of the garden are in line with its mission. Members should have some previous experience in gardening, agriculture, community-based work, education, and/or public health. Some members will represent the garden’s founding organizations, UCo Health, Oregon State University Extension Service, the Umatilla Master Gardeners Association, and the city of Pendleton.

Nomination forms and more information are available at Pendleton Community Garden | Pendleton OR. The council will begin work in March. The time commitment will be heavier in the spring and lighter in the last part of the year. Meetings may be held in person or virtually.

People are welcome to nominate themselves for the council.
