I’ve done just scotch tape by itself, loosely around the pod, and they’ve been fine.

I found that wrapping them too tight will fuck them up. I’m not sure if they get moldy or what, but the seeds would sometimes be fused together like one big long banana lookin thing. So now I make a sort of cone shape with the tape, open at the tip of the fruit.

Looks perfectly fine. it will just dry out, which is what you want.
