  1. Laura, this probably won't sit well with you but have you tried to swipe Douglas back? Obviously not in a way that hurts him but enough to let him know that he is below you in the pecking order. I have a semi-ferral cat and I did this, he swiped me and I moved him out of my reach with a firm hand and a sharp NO and walked away from him. It's got to be all in the moment though and a swift action. I only did it once and he has never swiped at me or anyone for that matter since. I guess I'm trying to say be firm with him because he is testing your boundaries.

  2. Soooooo. . . . When we plant things outside from small plastic pots, aren’t we putting them in a much larger “container?” I agree, Laura- “how do they know?” Pretty funny!! So many rules!!

  3. You have so many empty spots to fill in your garden, I don’t understand why you don’t just move more. Why do you give away so much when you could reuse it? Just curious, not trying to be critical.

  4. You and Samantha bantering in the garden, beyond adorable. She is so smart! Your kitchen sounds amazing. I can't wait to watch this unfold. Sorry to hear about your attic fire, so happy you're all okay.

  5. As you're redoing those plants. I just had a memory of you repotting a huge 100 year old Christmas cactus for one of your mother's customer. Just wondering if you ever got pictures of that in bloom?

  6. Why not relocate the hydrangeas to the side of your house that you've said will need more shade plants? Seems such a shame for them to go, they're magnificent!

  7. Would yall have to remove the privet hedge behind the incrediball hydrangeas? Sorry if I didn’t spell that right 😂

  8. Artificial Fern in the Head Planter ????? Think it was 10 repots. You didnt count the one with the starts ??

  9. I just had to check the name of a plant of mine to see if it was a leopard lily. No, Ludisia. Just as beautiful but a terrestrial orchid.

  10. Hey Laura I loved your helper today and it wasn’t Samatha. It was was Russell. He’s always close to wherever your at when your working

  11. FYI Laura: From what I read on Leopard Lily, they actually grow in DAMP, woodland areas. So NOT the same conditions as succulents. It is such a beautiful plant.

  12. Laura, I apologize in advance for this comment but … seeing just ONE child with a missing eye and a brutally scarred face from a swipe by the family cat is enough for a lifetime. Please consider finding a new home for Douglas where there are no children.

  13. I wonder if the cat bats at you because he wants pets but he hates the smell of the fertilizer?

  14. Our little Samantha Grace knows what’s what! 😂 That kneeling pad exchange had me LOL.
Really good video today. Was surprised that you weren’t going to move the hydrangeas over to the garden by the side of your house where it’s getting more shady.
Glad your family and house are okay.

  15. This has nothing to do with this video but I thought this was funny. I noticed my local garden center is having a bird class with companion plantings to attract birds and in the back of my mind I kept thinking that I know someone that would be interested in that and then when I figured out who it was, I started laughing, it was Benjamin. I’ve been watching you since the beginning and I guess I think I’m one of the family now.

  16. Loved watching you re-pot your house plants, you always make it look so easy to do. I always struggle with my houseplants when I need to re-pot them. I am going to try to use the same size pot as you did to make your hole in the middle of the pot & then put the plant in the new pot. Thanks for showing us on how you re-pot your plants. Your videos are awesome.

  17. I saw an older lady on Facebook yesterday being interviewed by a young man one thing she said that really resonated with me is do everything now. I know this renovation probably seems scary and costly but think of the years of enjoyment you and the family will have when it’s all done. I think the outdoor kitchen would be a nice bonus to the area.

  18. My gosh to see so much how your spring is so much further along than ours .we are still covered under a little snow .we are supposed to have 50s this weekend and that’ll help me. Some of it is going to break my heart when you’re incredible hydrangeas get dug out. I know this is not my garden, though I live vicariously through you every day, but there are certain parts of your garden that I just love and I know I would have such a hard time tearing part of it down. I love your kitchen garden with a black fencing surrounding . it my favorite part your landscape! love the incredible hydrangeas, and the pink mink clematis on those trellises there’s just so many little pieces of your yard. Those parts sing to me..
You are so brave ! I know you need a new kitchen you really could with the family but boy I would have a real hard time with some of that. I’m sure whatever you put in this place will be absolutely spectacular.!

  19. I am terrible at overwatering. I feel like I have a good handle on placement and soil, but I will overwater in a heartbeat. Anyone else have this struggle?

  20. The plants transplanted look great. I am sure the cactus like their new homes too! I need to do clean up around my home. I am hoping you will continue to motivate me! Samantha Grace is a smart little pistol knowing her Momma too well! It's such a bonus for us viewers to see the interaction between you, Laura and your daughter. It reminds me of my two sibling grandchildren. The oldest one, Davis is like Benjamin, serious, a sponge for knowledge. His little sister, Willa is the social bug that just loving life. What would we do without our children and grandchildren!💚

  21. Laura anything you do is interesting, I’m looking forward to your new adventure!👍🌷💐😖

  22. Wow Laura your plants in there are really so beautiful and you repotting them they are even more beautiful and so great where you placed them all and I bet they will get even more gorgeous. Thanks for a great video that was so fun to watch, have a great rest of your week, sending love and hugs😅🎉❤Bye❤❤

  23. Rubber glove trick! It works! Put in four fingers only! Then – pop in thumb! Thank me later! 😊
