After 14 years of refining my garden, everything is finally coming together. In this summer garden tour, I’m sharing how layers, textures, and plant combinations look at their peak in a mature ornamental garden. You’ll see perennials, shrubs, and design pairings that create long-season interest and a cohesive garden feel. This video is meant to inspire your own garden planning, whether you’re choosing plants, thinking about layout, or looking for ideas that work in real home gardens. I walk through what’s thriving, how different plants work together, and why certain combinations have stood the test of time.

This video is part of a four part seasonal garden tour series, with each episode highlighting a different season and showing how the garden evolves throughout the year. A new video in this series is released each Wednesday at 9am EST. Thanks so much for watching, Steph 🌱#gardentour #gardening #fourseasongarden #gardeninspiration #perennialgarden #gardenplanning

  2. I bought two ice plants and put in my back garden gate which has 2 small vases. The happily spread all around my gravel walkway below. I wrote down Mezoo so I will put those in the vases next year. Always enjoy your garden tours. They are perfection. Happy New Year and blessings to George when he has his birthday!

  3. I absolutely love Coleus and Angelonia. The color combos of Coleus go on forever and by the end of the season they are HUGE, and Angelonia never stops blooming and doesn’t need to be deadheaded. I collected seeds from them and will be starting them indoors for the first time in a few weeks. I will be so excited if they germinate.

  4. I'm surrounded by woods, and wetland, we have a lot of deer, and would eat everything , the DNR, told me to set a little pool out with fresh water for them, because most of the time, they are looking for moisture. It works, they only eat plants in early spring now, so i spray ,as soon as i see hostas starting to come up. I haven't had to spray the rest of the year, the last 5 years now. Hope this helps others

  5. Loved seeing the garden progression. Makes me excited for this coming growing season.

Looks like Blue stone Perennials sells the Lady Luck Knifophia! May need to add that to my garden!

  6. Dear Steph, my garden is in Germany, 30 km away from Cologne, the City with the huge, dark cathedral.
The soil is my huge problem: it is so hard and dense and full of roots from tall yew, juniper, holly and cherry laurel bushes that were planted there a long time ago.
    And slugs, countless slugs 😕.

Because of your videos, I started winter sowing last week 😃.
I became a big fan of your channel, it offers a variety of topics and it gives me hope for this garden season. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us!🌹
