During construction of a detached garage, one of the contractors thought he should spread out the leftover gravel over a large portion of my lawn to create a driveway to the garage. I didn’t want that, so the gravel was scraped back up into this pile.

I would like to use some of the gravel elsewhere. Is there a feasible way to remove the dirt and debris from the gravel?

not worth the time really – there would be no reasonable method to accomplish this

It was the contractor’s responsibility to clean it up and get rid of it. They spread it out somewhere so they wouldn’t have to haul the material off, and then you let them just pile it up on your property.

  3. You could get a large screen and sift the gravel out but that would cost so much money, time and effort that it wouldn’t be worth it

They make buckets you can attach to a skid steer to sift this but the time labor and fuel costs make it pointless. Unless you want to do it yourself as a fun activity . Wish I had better news for you

  5. Have it hauled away. Gravel isn’t really that expensive and that will never be clean enough to look good. Unless it went back to the gravel pit and it was reprocessed.
