People looking to add a small, simple upgrade to their garden that adds “a touch of elegance” may like the newest Home Bargains item. It could easily be mistaken for a more expensive version of a similar ‘flower’ that brings practicality to green spaces.
Available in four different colours, the Firefly Metal Lotus Crackle Ball Solar Light (priced at £3.99 each) are on offer at Home Bargains – both in stores and online. Shoppers can pick from soft pink, yellow, blue or green for the petals of this floral garden lamp.
Describing the garden lights online, a spokesperson for Home Bargains said: “Transform your garden with the Firefly Metal Lotus Crackle Ball Solar Lights. These stunning lights are easy to install – simply place them where you want to add a touch of elegance.
“Powered by a rechargeable battery, they charge during the day and automatically turn on at dusk, casting a warm white LED glow that creates a serene atmosphere. With their beautiful lotus design and crackle ball effect, these solar lights are perfect for brightening up flowerbeds, walkways, or any outdoor space.”
Shoppers could look elsewhere for items to upgrade their garden ahead of warmer weather coming in spring, but similar style lights may be more expensive elsewhere. For example, a very similar-looking item costs £20 more in B&Q.

Comparing images online, the Home Bargains light looks a lot like the ValueLights Green Solar Powered Outdoor Lotus Flower Garden Light from B&Q – but with a £20 difference. On top of this, shoppers cannot buy these in B&Q stores, having no choice but to wait for free home delivery.
B&Q claims its offering adds “a pop of colour and charm” to gardens, suggesting that it is “the perfect way to brighten up any space and impress your neighbours”. The B&Q site reads: “This little beauty blooms by day (well, in the sun!) then lights up after dark from the cool white LED inside the crackled globe. No wires, no hassle, just pure, eco-friendly glow.”
The ‘plants’ look incredibly alike, even down to the layers of ‘petals’ and the same style of “crackled glass” for the light itself, casting lifelike leaf patterns onto the metal design. B&Q does sell some colours that are not available in Home Bargains, such as white and black, with the same £22.99 price tag.

Home Bargains has a range of new solar-powered garden lights that do not require any installation or hard wiring to brighten up outdoor spaces. Shoppers can find the full range here.
In other news, shoppers might have also noticed in the garden department that the discount store has brought back a popular addition from 2025 with its hanging hot air balloon lights. Available in a three-pack for £7.99, the “charming” Firefly Hot Air Balloon Solar Lights create “a warm ambience with a stunning flame effect”.
The lights automatically turn on at dusk, having been charged up the battery with sunlight throughout the day. Alternatives are available, such as a £5,99 ‘Balloon Mobile’ or stand-alone options for £3.49 to bulk out displays.
