  1. Such great advise! I love the idea of creating "mystery" in the garden and have been trying to figure out how to do that in both my front and back yard. So cool that you're in Fresno. I'm in Livermore, Ca.. My plants love the weather here! New to your channel, slowly working my way through your videos. A big part of me is here strictly for Chip! LOL

  2. You can ask your neighbor to think of you when they are dividing plants. I go to Goodwill and savers to get second hand items for my garden. We have a fence company that puts free pieces out in front of the store that they have dug up from someone yard when replacing a fence. A lot of plants you can propergate by cutting a piece and just sticking it in the ground (like rose of Sharon) as for rocks we pick them up where they fall away from ledge on the road. My husband found a metal bedframe on the side of the road and we made a garden that came out awesome. Start small in one spot. Blessings 🙏

  3. Interesting points, very helpful! However, I would appreciate putting the 8 tips clearly on the video so I can see what they are and hop to the ones that interest me.

  4. Excellant information, but you are misusing the word infer. Infer is what the listener does, imply is what the speaker does.

  5. Regarding the “gardens are for people” book: the listener infers, the speaker implies. Sorry, but the english major in me had to say something

  6. I am delighted to have found your channel! Thank you for freely sharing your knowledge and experience.
    I appreciate it.

  7. I have been enjoying your content. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge about gardens and landscaping. Keep it coming!! Youre doing such a gr8 job. Subscribed! ❤

  8. Do you have a resource I could view or read for me to access in creating a new garden on the southern coast, ocean front, in Maine? I would appreciate any references or suggestions. Thank you…you’re inspiring. Ellen

  9. Planning is everything. I agree. I am new to gardens and planning them . I do have one major problem to solve that will be the major 'block' in my design: A privacy screen from my neighbours on one side of the house. The space is narrow between them and our house so that's a big challenge. Maybe an AI can come up with some ideas!

  10. I wish the first I did when planning my garden was to think of all the things I wanted to screen and create privacy. I had lots of hard landscaping done, and then I didn't have space to plant trees for privacy. In the UK, where gardens are usually quite small, creating a private oasis is very important as your neighbours behaviours will impact you.

  11. I find that having a general idea of what I want is better than having a strict plan. When I get started, I let the garden decide what it needs. I prefer a garden that is organic rather than looking like it’s professionally landscaped where everything is too exacting.
