The poor garden is waterlogged and desperate for having some work done in it. But at the moment the ongoing rain has stopped everything!
I’m just here giving an update on how it is at the moment and hoping for some dry weather soon!

  1. It's been very wet in the south east too. Last week we had a nearly dry day and, like you, got some pruning done. On the bright side, the grass isn't growing.

  2. Oh how it’s rained this year in the UK, dreaming of dry conditions. Thank you for the lovely garden images & snowdrops. 👍

  3. Good to see you Marion, have missed you.
I am in SE England – very soggy like you. All I am doing is indulging in a good long grumble about the weather, in true Brit fashion.

  4. I can so relate to the seemingly endless rain Marion. We haven't seen a speck of snow all winter, and we usually have some by late October or early November. Instead we just keep having pounding rain. I do pray you have glorious sunny days ahead. It is nice to see how things are doing in your garden, and how the flowers persist in popping up regardless of the snow. I hope you had a nice Valentines Day. I also hope the birds have come back to your garden and are singing their little hearts out with notes of cheer. …on our semi-annual drive to town the other day, I saw along the margins of the river, a Great Egret all snowy white, its plumage glistening in the sun. (It was the only day last week we didn't have rain or smoke.) I was so surprised, I did a double take, as I had never seen one in our area. Great Blue Herons we have in abundance, but not Great Egrets. It was such a beautiful bird, I was filled with awe, but only got one swift look and we were past. Bird watching from a moving car is not very satisfying. Still, I was delighted to have seen it at all, and shall keep an eye out for it every chance I get. 😊❤

  5. Wonderful to see your garden again… mine East Anglia not much better. Maybe you could try Burlap Snail Seed Planting whilst inside your home in warm!(you could use bubble wrap) Cut long strips Burlap about 7”wide . Lay out and put your compost along length leaving not quite to edge . Roll up carefully & secure with Gaffer Tape. Stand up in shallow container with others if using. Sew seeds in top, space as usual. Water not too wet. You can sprinkle vermiculite if wish at top. Care as usual cover with poly bag or in propagated. Unroll when ready to pot on. Some can be planted in situ… sweet peas etc& burlap composts down in soil. The joy is you can do in kitchen in the warm!! Hope helpful Marion)

  6. I'm in the north east too Marion. Cold wet weather has held me back as well but not to worry there's time yet to get sorted seed wise lol. 🙏 for brighter and drier weather.
As always thank you for sharing your garden and your thoughts x

  7. Morning Marion everyone is in the same boat ( well I hope not literally 🛶😊) hellebores and snowdrops are lovely. Mother Nature is still with us beautiful tight buds on the bushes and trees. Look at it another way more time for sewing ❤

  8. Sorry your garden is so soggy Marion but i'm very glad to see you back. Your enthusiasm for your garden is so inspiring. I really want to get going in my garden now too x

  9. Hi Marion. Good to hear from you. I’m over in Whitley Bay where I live. I took a lovely walk along the sea front yesterday as the weather was so nice compared to as you say as it has been ! So back to knitting and sewing in doors. Look forward to the third make for Christmas advent. I’m practicing my fair-isle knitting and it’s so addictive lol. Must get moving though! Keep dry and see you soon x

  10. 💜 good to see how things are looking. Good idea with the potatoes in your windowsill. I’m going to try potatoes this year. I do miss English potatoes. I’m in the US now and not as many varieties to choose from.

  11. Still lovely to see your garden Marion, we have to endure this awful weather to really appreciate the good, sending every hope for sunshine 🌞 and dry – thank you for keeping in touch – your snowdrops are adorable x

  12. Hi marionwhat a let down the weather in Britain has been we've had gale force winds here in spain so I've put my tomatoe seeds in and peas which I have got in doors for starters have a good week fingers crossed it stops raining for you xx❤

  13. Love your beautiful coat, so bright and cheerful!❤❤❤ How boggy to where you can't stand. Thanks for showing your potatoes on the window sill and your Snowdrops poking out of the snow. Prayers for Sunshine! 🌞🌞🌞🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

  14. I’m glad you are back! Like you everything is at a standstill. We had 16” of snow here in NC. It took two weeks of staying in. Now it is raining for two days. But the future has promise of new growth. It takes the winter to bring this promise.🩷🩷🩷

  15. Snowdrops in the snow ❄here in Yorkshire too. Praying for some Spring like weather. Rattling unopened seed packets☀💛

  16. I watch you from Santa Barbara in southern California. I don't envy you your endless rainy days, but wish we could trade weather just for a week or two. You could have our sunny days and we could have the rain we always need so much here. So good to see your garden, even in its soggy state.

  17. It’s winter not a lot you can do in the garden well I have found this, yep been trying and trying for years for a nice garden thanks to your wonderful channel having the best summer growing ever, my gardens are looking great. The warmer weather is coming your way and your lovely plants will wake and boom you will be away again while you produce and grow my garden will slowly fall into a sleep that’s fine I will watch and learn. You might not think you are doing a lot but my excess (there been quite a lot) veg have been hitting sharing tables see you are gardening just well here in NZ. Aww must mention big hit this year my apple tree is absolutely laden with fruit so thank you for the one you did on pruning yes was the wrong time of year here to prune but I did it and the results this season aww yum can’t wait for the apples to be ready. Thank you for all your wonderful tips.

  19. Love to see your plants growing in your tunnel! Thanks for sharing it. We are just going through a short warm up even getting close to 60 F, but 30’s and rain are coming shortly. I hope you get your sunshine☀️ to dry up some of that excess moisture and get your beans and everything else going. Looking forward to this season as I have more than 60 jugs on my deck that I winter sowed to plant this spring. Wild flowers and natives and veggies. Also young blueberries and strawberries to put outside. ❤

  20. Prayers 🙏🙏for sunny, drier weather for your area, Marion. ❤❤

As in Ottawa, we have a lot of snow in Manitoba. But it is a bit warmer today. We had +2°C for about an hour around noon. We appreciate whatever we get and it is all relative to each area.

God likes variety! ❤ The world has so many climates. The birds do need somewhere to go when winter strikes one area.

Looking forward to seeing your garden bloom Marion.🌸

  21. Ugh – the weather! I hope spring brings you some relief from the cold rain. Here in the US Pacific Northwest, it’s been dreadfully dry and unusually warm. There is no snow in the mountains so our summer water supply is at risk.

  22. My dear Marion…here in San Diego we’re excited to have a rainstorm predicted to start tomorrow. We haven’t had much rain this season so every drop helps.
However I know it must be frustrating for you with your plans for your beautiful garden. I’ll watch you with envy for your snowdrops and other lovely flowers.
Keep on posting and know that some of us eagerly await your garden news!🥰

  23. We’ve got several inches of snow covered in sleet/ice layer that is slowly melting … it is from a January snow storm. Ten years ago we had similar situation. But I don’t remember the bone chilling deep freezing temperatures. I’m itching to be outdoors too, but there is so much snow. Hoping, praying, and wishing for warmer weather here and there too. ☀️❤ Thank you for the update.

  24. Don’t lose hope! Sun will come back eventually…..winter it’s time to be warm inside, drink some cocoa or tea and make beautiful crafts!

  25. I liked your video, because I still enjoy hearing from you! I wish you could send some of your rain here, Marion. Here in western Washington State we are actually in a drought. We've not had any of the snow (and not much rain either) that has plagued much of the rest of the US. Our surrounding mountains do not have enough snowpack to help us (or the salmon) this summer. Many of our ski resorts are not having a season at all. So I am sorry you are having so much rain….that's usually our lament….but I wish we could have some of it.

  26. Marion, Your jacket is like a ray of sunshine in your wet garden and look at those brave little snowdrops! Here's hoping there's some sunshine coming your way.🙂

  27. I have heard from others that I follow and you know that it has been cold and very rainy. Just do your best and you'll have to wait on the weather to improve. Once that gets better you will be kept busy! You have done so much work in your garden, every year it gets better and better! ❤

  28. Lovely snowdrops Marion, spring will come soon! Love your jacket. Yes, I wish you more sunshine, and here in Ontario, we hope the snow and cold will come soon to an end. We have had so much winter this year. However, it’s nice to stitch and enjoy the quiet season. Take care until next time. ❤

  29. hi Marion! so happy to see a garden update from you . i was wondering how it was doing this winter. now i know and will be sending you sunshine and warmth. linda from california
