Huge milestone for me today!

First grafts onto periskiopsis I bought from Exotic Cactus Collections store on eBay back around the end of December.

Let them fully root and push some new growth for a bit before taking cuttings and throwing some grafts together. Watered approx 2 days before grafting.

Felt like a solid test run, definitely something that takes practice to make perfect and easily repeatable.

Picked –

3 Lophophora williamsii
2 Echinopsis lageniformis
1 Echinopsis pachanoi

Selected my favorites to go on the plants with the best growth and appearance.

Worked from least desirable forwards, didn't know how bad I would mangle these guys.

Cut about 3" above soil level and pulled any leaves immediately below the grafting area.

Used tweezers with some heat shrink to hold seedlings still while the root end was dissected.

Applied juice of broken leaf, tried without first. Always see this mentioned and wanted to see the difference. Noticed it was much easier to stick the seedlings to the grafting cactus with a little leaf juice.

Put 4 holes in the top of a 32oz deli cup cleaned with hot water and soaked in 70% IPA. rinsed with spray bottle & distilled water.

Taped holes at top with paper tape, will remove slowly to begin venting.

Taped 3/4" around containers, left a small air gap. Paper tape breathes, but didn't want to completely choke the environment of air exchange.

Placed in my cooler cabinet in a more shaded area, roughly 78 degrees in the day. Mid 60s at night, fans moving air and a less intense light and schedule.

See how it goes!
