Valentine’s Day may be in the rearview mirror, but romance is never dead, and there is nothing like some nice romantic locations to keep the flame stoked.
Travel + Leisure Names Massachusetts’ Most Romantic Spot
Travel + Leisure has compiled a list of the most romantic places to go in every state, and while I’m not sure their choice for Massachusetts is the most romantic, a case can be made for it.
Travel + Leisure selected the Boston Public Garden as the most romantic place in Massachusetts. It certainly is a beauty, and it’s located across the street from the historic Boston Common, established in 1634 as America’s first public park.

Travel + Leisure writes, “In the heart of historic Boston, the Victorian-style Public Garden is the perfect place for a stroll, bike ride, or picnic.”
“You’ll always see swans (both real and in sculpted paddleboat form) and plenty of scenery at this destination, which was established in 1837 as the first public botanical garden in the U.S.,” the publication wrote.
Now who doesn’t think a swan boat ride is romantic?
Though the swan boats close and the beautiful flowers disappear for the winter, the Public Garden is a nice place to stroll hand in hand all year long, even in the snow.

Travel + Leisure lists Mohegan Bluffs on Block Island as Rhode Island’s top romantic place. In Connecticut, Travel + Leisure says you can get your romance on at Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse.
To the north, Travel + Leisure selected the Ice Castles near Lincoln, New Hampshire, and in Vermont, it’s the Scenic Route 100 Byway. Isle au Haut is Maine’s most romantic place, according to Travel + Leisure.
The nice part is that they are all within driving distance from the SouthCoast.
