Hello, I have a Monterrey Oak and a Eagleston Holly that were planted last year. I'm looking for advice on pruning the the competing leaders for both trees. For the oak, it seems the best option to would be remove branch 2 completely?

For the Holly, I'm a bit more lost in terms of what to do as it looks like there are several competing branches coming from the same spot on the same part of the trunk. Branch 2 and 3 seem to be competing for the leader when I think it should be 1. Should I remove 2 and 3 or because they are large, try to do a reduction cut so they arent going upwards or just a head cut somewhere in the middle of each one? Thanks for any tips!
