Hey everybody! First year winter sower here. I’ve had some of my seeds out since fall so they’ve been chilling for a while now, everything is covered in snow at the moment to varying degrees but I’m unsure if this predicted warmer stretch from today until Friday warrants me watching out for germination.

I’m located in southwestern Ontario,

Thanks in advance for the insight!

Or, I meant to ask as well, is there any risk of messing up the stratification with those higher temps?

I thought you were joking until I read “Ontario” and realized this is celsius

I’m in Detroit so not far from you. The soil in the jugs shouldn’t get warm enough for germination. Just keep them out of the sun.

All those predicted temperatures are at or below freezing, so I wouldn’t worry.

I wouldn’t worry about messing up stratification either. Most fridges are ~4°C, and they’re perfectly suitable for cold-moist stratification.

You’re good, probably not much action till highs around 20C
