Those that care about the well-being of their plants don’t leave them in the ice. Therefore… there are no pictures we have to offer of cactus dying due to neglect.
I dont understand the humor in destroying these.
Literally all you had to do to save that cactus on the porch – throw a tarp over it with red cups on the tips.
With tips covered theyre fine down to 27/28. What are temps for you?

If they’re staying outside you have a better chance of them living if you leave the snow on it actually will insulate them a bit from the outside temps.
Snow finally melted enough to see the “cold hardy” Grandi hybrids I planted outside last summer. Some of them look ok, some are very squishy. Got down to -10 here in Ohio but they had a foot of snow on them. We’ll see what happens. My opuntia always look like hell after the winter but bounce back no problem in spring
