Hi guys, I would love to hear your opinions on how to prune my fiddle leaf fig to encourage branching instead of just this one long, straight stem. I've already cut it once, but it keeps growing straight up,thank you!
Note: I also tried notching, but it didn't work, or maybe I didn't do it the right way. If I go with this option again? Should I do it above or below of the cutted area? Thank you!

What direction does that window face and have you considered opening the curtains?
How many branches you get when you prune directly correlates to how much energy the plant has above the cut point. If you prune off just the tip (say only 3 leaves) and/or the plant is weak and not growing very fast, you will most likely get only one branch.
If you prune off a LOT more growth (say 25 leaves) and the plant is growing really fast, you might get four new branches!
If I were you, I’d give it more light so it grows faster, then once it’s growing nice and fast, prune it back HARD. Personally I’d go much lower, perhaps 8 inches taller than your window sill.
