I planted some store bought onions that started growing shoots. I just was hoping to get them to bolt and harvest some seeds for fun. I planted them in soil mix of equal parts sphagnum peat moss, compost manure, and perlite. I also added some 12-12-12 fertilizer to the top few inches of the soil. They haven't been doing well at all and nearly every single leaf is completely wilted. Any ideas?
I've been moving them outside when it's warm and sunny but keeping them inside otherwise. Maybe this is shocking them too much? But it got below freezing at night most of the time for the past few weeks. Are they recoverable?
