Aldi is launching its highly anticipated “Grow Your Own” garden range — and some prices are coming in up to 50% cheaper than rivals including B&Q and Argos.

With Specialbuys available while stocks last, the budget supermarket’s early spring drop is expected to attract strong demand.

£29.99 walk-in greenhouse vs B&Q’s £59.99 version

The standout deal is Aldi’s Walk-In Greenhouse priced at £29.99.

A comparable VonHaus Walk-In Greenhouse at B&Q costs £59.99, while Argos lists a McGregor Walk-In Greenhouse at £50.

That means shoppers could save:

£30 (50%) compared to B&Q

£20.01 (40%) compared to Argos

At under £30, Aldi’s version includes six shelves, a roll-up zip door and quick assembly – making it one of the cheapest walk-in greenhouse options currently on the high street.

With growing interest in home food production and rising gardening costs, price comparisons like this are likely to drive early sell-outs.

Garden Essentials from 99p

Beyond greenhouses, Aldi’s entry-level prices are drawing attention.

The Garden Essentials Set is 99p, including garden ties, twist ties and plant clips – ideal for tidying beds after winter.

Other budget-friendly highlights include:

Fibre Pot Multipack – £1.99

Grow Bag (2 Pack) – £1.99

Windowsill Greenhouse – £2.99

Propagator Set (4 Pack) – £3.99

Heavy Duty Loppers – £16.99

Incinerator (80L) – £14.99

100L Waterbutt – £19.99

Prices significantly undercut many DIY retailers as shoppers prepare for spring planting.

Why February is key for gardeners

Savvy growers know late February is ideal for sowing slow-growing crops like chillies and peppers indoors before the final frost.

Aldi’s early launch allows shoppers to prepare ahead of peak spring demand – and potentially avoid higher seasonal prices elsewhere.

The supermarket is also offering:

A 160L Storage Box – £24.99

Wooden Seed Storage Box – £7.99

Dual Head Plant Grow Light – £12.99

Ladies’ and Men’s Garden Clogs – £5.99

Like many middle-aisle launches at Aldi, the garden range will only be available while stocks last.

Given the significant price gap compared to B&Q and Argos, demand is expected to be high — particularly for the £29.99 greenhouse.

The Grow Your Own range lands in Aldi stores nationwide from February 22.
